The rollback tow trucks are very versatile pieces of modern machinery equipment. It only takes a little imagination to find extra jobs for rollback tow trucks if your area is proving difficult and unprofitable for towing and recovery services.

Like I mentioned in other articles in addition to towing vehicles which is the main purpose and use of roll back tow trucks you can use this truck also known as flatbeds without any modification to haul and transport wooden crates and equally use rollback trucks to carry tractors and larger vehicles. This rollback tow truck is specially useful to transport vehicles with steel chain wheels known as continuous tracks, or caterpillar tracks, (those large (modular) tracks used on crawler-type army tanks), construction equipment and certain other off-road vehicles that travel in mud.

These vehicles with steel chain tracks on the wheels can damage the road and not allowed in many country on highways. So to transport them they have to either remove the chains which in most cases is not possible or use a lowered dolly or larger size rollback flatbed truck. These heavy duty large rollback tow trucks can carry and transport most anything that can be wheeled or dragged onto its platform.

Even though rollback tow trucks is the best tow truck, their are problems with using flatbed rollback tow trucks as transport vehicles for different kinds of loads is getting the load on the platform without damaging it. Most of them have a lip that when the platform is raised it lies flat on the pavement so it is possible to roll anything onto it but others don’t. Some rollback tow trucks have a small step that when loading a car is not a problem because usually the car will roll on so care must be taken on what you attempt to load onto your truck.

And please note that this is the second sequel or part 3 to the previous articles on what are the uses of roll back tow trucks. If you haven’t read it yet head over and read them on this wrecker tow trucks site before or after reading this. (Doesn’t matter which way.)

If you have experience with using rollback tow trucks to Transport Caterpillar Tracks Vehicles and tractors please leave a comment and share them here. Everyone has a different and unique story to tell after using a flatbed for a purpose like transporting a chain, continuous track vehicle. Tell us how you managed to load the vehicles etc. Thanks in advance.

Even though rollback tow trucks are a kind of wrecker tow truck, the uses of this ingenious truck type go beyond simple towing and wrecker haulage. Read this article to know more about this amazing truck known to you as flatbed tow trucks or maybe just  flatbeds or rollbacks.

In the previous article about uses of roll back tow trucks I mentioned that in addition to towing wrecked cars and vehicles these rollback tow trucks are today employed and efficiently used for several other jobs like transporting wooden crates, trees and heavy lords.

Before people got the idea to use rollback tow trucks for transporting crates they had a big problem with wooden crates. Because wooden crates and similar heavy boxed items don’t have wheels or tires and on top of that very heavy (a bad combination) it was difficult to transport them.  Those days often the crates were placed on a normal truck and then loaded with things.  Other wise they had to bring a forklift truck to load the baggage or wooden crate onto a normal truck bed. Rollback trucks solved this problem with it’s thick winch steel cables.

Using the strong steel cables, tie downs, and the trucks powerful winch these heavy wooden crates could be dragged onto the lowered roll backed platform of the rollback truck. It’s a no brainier to mention the time and money which is saved for the crate owner by using rollback tow trucks to perform the combined task of renting a forklift loader and a truck to carry the load. The rollback tow trucks will perform both jobs on both ends of the trip!

This is another reason why rollback tow trucks are the best type of wrecker truck because you get more than you bargained!

Note: be aware of the weight capacity of the rollback tow trucks. It can’t transport more than a normal size crate because a average rollback tow trucks weight or towing capacity is around 10,000 lbs or 4 to 5 metric tons which is the normal weight of a car or small vehicle.)

The wrecker roll back tow trucks also known as flat bed tow trucks is one of the most popular kind of truck in the world today. The sales and interest of towing companies and services to buy roll backs such as the Toyota Hino Roll back truck attest to this fact. This is primarily due to of the advantages and uses the rollback tow trucks have.

In Roll back tow trucks, it’s unique way of loading and towing vehicles which unlike any other type of wrecker tow truck. The other most interesting and advantages use of roll back tow trucks is the movable truck bed or flat bed in its back. This flatbed can be rolled back like a platform lowers itself and tilt it until it reaches the ground. Thereby you don’t have to lift the wrecked vehicle onto them using a mechanism like hook and boon system found in other types of wreckers which can damage the already damaged or wrecked cars or vehicles axle or front tow bar.

Though roll back tow trucks were originally designed and used as a alternative wrecker type for transporting cars instead of towing them, people have found many other applications and uses for wrecker roll back tow trucks because of it’s efficiency for other things too.

The powerful winch I mentioned earlier coupled with the roll back truck bed and accessories like tie down rings, tow straps are frequently used for transporting heavy loads these days. Heavy loads like tree trucks, rock boulders etc. is rolled or dragged onto the roll back platform of the truck or wooden crates and baggage’s that are to be transported to container yards use roll back tow truck as a medium to convey the good and crates due to it’s usefulness in this area.
